Congressman Westerman Endorses Griffin, Named as Honorary Fourth District Chairman

January 8, 2021 by admin

Westerman says Griffin ‘is a testament to his Arkansas upbringing with strong conservative values'

LITTLE ROCK – Lt. Governor Tim Griffin announced today the endorsement of Congressman Bruce Westerman, who will serve as his honorary campaign chairman for Arkansas’s Fourth Congressional District.

“From Hope to Huntsville, nobody knows the Fourth District better than Congressman Westerman, and I am thrilled to have his support for Governor,” said Griffin. “He has been a strong conservative voice for voters in the Fourth District, and I know we will make an excellent team on the campaign trail.”

“Knowing Tim for 10-years and representing his hometown in my congressional district, I not only got to learn about him but also meet people who have known him all his life. He is a testament to his Arkansas upbringing with strong conservative values, his service to country, and his professional qualifications,” said Congressman Westerman. “Arkansas has built a strong Republican Party, and we need bold conservative leadership to continue our progress. Tim Griffin is that leader. He is qualified and ready to serve. I am honored to endorse Tim as the next Governor of our great state.”

About Lt. Governor Tim Griffin

Tim Griffin grew up in Magnolia, Arkansas, a fifth-generation Arkansan and the youngest son of a minister and teacher. He was first elected the lieutenant governor of Arkansas on November 4, 2014 and is currently serving his second four-year term. He is focused on growing jobs through aggressively pursuing economic development, more parental choice in education and boldly reforming state government.

From 2011-2015, Griffin served as the 24th representative of Arkansas’s Second Congressional District. For the 113th Congress, he was a member of the House Committee on Ways and Means while also serving as a Deputy Whip for the Majority. In the 112th Congress, he served as a member of the House Armed Services Committee, the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, the House Committee on Ethics, and the House Committee on the Judiciary. In Congress, he advocated for bold tax reform and entitlement reform to grow jobs and reduce the national debt.

During the Bush Administration, in 2006-2007, Griffin served as U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas and previously as Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of Political Affairs for President George W. Bush at the White House.

Griffin has served as an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve, Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps, for over 24 years and currently holds the rank of colonel. He was mobilized to active duty in 2005 as an Army prosecutor at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and served with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) in Mosul, Iraq, for which he was awarded the Combat Action Badge. He is currently serving as the Commander of the 134th Legal Operations Detachment (LOD) at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. In July 2018, Lieutenant Governor Griffin, in his capacity as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserve, received his master’s degree in strategic studies as a Distinguished Graduate from the United States Army War College, Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania.

He graduated from Magnolia High School, Hendrix College, Tulane Law School, and attended graduate school at Oxford University in England.

He currently serves on the boards of Our House shelter for the working homeless and Pathway to Freedom, a faith-based prison ministry, and previously served on the boards of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arkansas and the Florence Crittenton Home. His wife Elizabeth is from Camden, and they live in Little Rock with their three children, Mary Katherine, John, and Charlotte Anne. They are members of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Americans are voting w/ their feet, & it's clear they want to live in states w/ little or no income tax. I'll phase out our state's income tax so we can grow jobs, attract workers, & create the best possible future for the next generation.  #arpx #ARGov

Either tear down his monument or rebuild all of the ones tore down last year! History is history regardless of if you agree with it or not! That's what made America the country it is today, I think he would agree with that...

You have my vote because of who you are and what you stand for. Personally I don’t care that you have raised twice the money as your opponent. It means nothing to me. What does mean something to me is you always stating what you stand for. Don’t get caught up in comparing money thinking that will make people vote for you. However, congrats on raising money it takes to run campaign.

That's exactly what I suspected! Money! That's what Leslie and Tim's campaign has been all about, the money! Show them the money! Neither one of them have shown any interest, plans or initiatives to produce more jobs or boost Arkansas's economy! What are their position on increasing the minimum wage to $15 an hour or increasing teacher's salaries? I wonder how many people know that Arkansas's "liberal" Democratic governors produced more new jobs on an average every year they were in office than Republican and conservative Democratic governors. That's a fact! David Pryor (1975-79) 5.4% job growth, Orval Faubus (1955-65) 5.1% job growth and Dale Bumpers (1971-75) 5.0% job growth! Republican Mike Huckabee had a measly 1% job growth! Arkansas's governor should always have character, integrity and be truthful! Leslie and Tim are disqualified!

Congratulations!

You've got my vote.

Not necessarily, Tim! You may be "bold and conservative" but the best governors Arkansas have had were Democrats, David Pryor, Orval Faubus, and Dale Bumpers! Currently however, Governor Asa Hutchinson a Republican holds the top spot! I have had no problem voting Republican in the past, however you need to show me some of your accomplishments other than supporting Republican GOP that tried to overturn President-elect Biden legal and fair election results, saying it was a fraud! And even after the Capitol was attacked by domestic terrorists, you're still supporting lies and conspiracy propaganda! You are too dishonest and unpatriotic Tim, to be governor of Arkansas!

Do you support President Trump legacy?

You have. My Support
